BIO

Originally from Belfast, Joy is a recording, mix engineer and educator based in London. She strives to elevate your sound and sonic identity, and creates an environment where her clients and communities can flourish.

Joy has been working in audio since 2015. Her journey began learning under Mikko Gordon, Sean Woodlock and Nick Powell at Goldsmiths Music Studios, and has since worked with renowned producer Nigel Godrich on Arcade Fire's latest album 'WE' and The Smile's (Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Tom Skinner) debut record. Her latest engineer credits include Shygirl, Dream Nails and the tv series Derry Girls. Her background in sound art, classical piano and expertise in both digital and analogue make her a versatile engineer who pushes creative boundaries.

 

With experience recording a wide range of instruments, including full bands, string quartets, choirs and soloists, working with Joy can guarantee a high quality, professional sound no matter your set-up.

As a workshop facilitator and educator, Joy delivers creative, inclusive workshops in sound and music-making working with a range of groups and charities such as Lewisham Music, Roundhouse, Drake Music and Omnii.
